Hiding your guns before they come for them!

Hello my friend and welcome back!  In today’s post, we are going to look at hiding your guns before they come for them.  Where are the best places to hide them and why some places may not be the best choice.

I think we can all agree that it is not a question of if, but when they will come for our guns.  Because of this we’re looking for good places to hide them right?  While I have watched many videos and read many articles on the subject I believe some of the ideas they present are either not feasible or misguided.  Let me give you an example of this.  One article I read suggested that you hide them in your attic in old cardboard boxes.  While that might work in the movies, I doubt it would work in real life.  Another article advocated hiding them in the sub floor under your house.  If I was looking for where someone might have hidden their guns, that would be one of the first places I would look.  While it sounds good, it really isn’t practical. One article even suggested that you put them in a water tight container with a weight on the end and throwing them in the River.  River currents can be very powerful and I dare say that when you went to get them, they wouldn’t be where you left them.

I guess what I’m trying to say is that you need to be careful because there are some really bad ideas being floated around the internet.  I don’t mean to criticize these ideas, because I can see why some people might think that these good ideas if not completely thought through. Let’s take a look at some of the option available.

There is a lot of new furniture coming out with built in places for hiding your weapons.  If you can afford it and it matches your existing furniture that’s great, but for many people, that just isn’t practical.  I also have to wonder if the government will give their soldiers pictures of these and have them looking for these well.  If you are going to hide guns in your furniture, I would suggest that you modify a piece of existing furniture yourself.   One big plus to this is that you can get to your guns quickly.  This one is still open to some debate.

What you’re about to discover here, contradicts everything you’ve ever known about protecting your home and family from looters, thieves, and rapists during a crisis.

These techniques are taken out from actual 21st century warzones, where social chaos is the name of the game.

People from these lawless states know exactly how to create virtually impenetrable barriers, it the nick of time and without any money.

One idea that is very popular is to bury your guns in a watertight container so you can come back later. I would add a couple of cautions to this one.  First, be sure you oil your weapons very well and even give them a light coating of grease before placing them in a plastic bag. Seal the bag well and pour about a pound of rice into the container to absorb any moisture that might get into the container. The next thing I would caution you about is burying this near your house.  You need to bury them away from your property, just in case they decide to use a metal detector to search for them.

Another idea is to build a false wall in your home or basement and hiding your guns behind it.  This is one of the better ones out there and I can see nothing wrong with it.  Just be sure you blend it in completely so it doesn’t stand out.

One I really like is to store your guns and ammunition in eight foot pieces of four-inch PVC pipe and then placing them in you wall.  If someone were to tear the wall open, they would just think it is part of the plumbing.  This is also a great way to store food and ammunition.  I would caution you though not to do too many of these because if they keep seeing four-inch PVC in all of your walls, they will get suspicious.

A few more thoughts:  Where ever and however you decide to store your weapons, you should always protect them for moisture which could cause rust and render them inoperable.  Next, you may want to consider that they show up with gun sniffing dogs and metal detectors when they come.  I keep one or two guns at my house and the rest is stored somewhere else along with most of my ammo.  This way that can search all they want and not find anything.  I’m sure you have a few good ideas as to where to hide your guns for when they come and I would appreciate it if you could share them with us in the comments below.  Not everyone is a seasoned Prepper and this would be a good time to pass along a few good ideas to them.

Well that’s it for today and I hope you have enjoyed today’s post.  Until next time, stay safe, stay strong and stay prepared.  God Bless America!
