Due Process? A Drone Was Used To Blow Up A US Citizen Without Trial This Week

The Dallas shootings have ushered in a very new world for US citizens. For the very first time, drones have been used on US soil to kill Americans without trial or charges. The suspected shooter in yesterday’s tragic killings, US Army veteran Micah Xavier Johnson, was, according to police and press reports, holed up in a parking garage and would not give himself up. After hours of what police claimed were fruitless negotiations with Johnson, a weaponized robot was sent to where he was hiding and blown up, taking Johnson with it.

Get past the horror of what Johnson was accused of doing and think about that precedent for a moment. Is it not chilling?

RPI regular contributor Peter Van Buren, a retired State Department official who did a tour in Iraq, put a very fine point on the “robot” bomb:

Indeed, even without wings, this was a drone sent in to kill an American suspected of a crime.

Police claim that continuing the negotiations was pointless and attempting to capture him would have put officers at risk. He was supposedly shooting. While no sane person wants police officers to be killed, risk is something we are told they willingly accept when they sign up for police duty. There are plenty of low-risk jobs out there.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA… Are you ready to turn back the clocks to the 1800’s for up to three years? Our grandfathers and great-grandfathers were the last generation to practice the basic things that we call survival skills now… WATCH THIS VIDEO and you will find many interesting things!

lost

The media and opinion-leaders are presenting us with a false choice: if we question the use of drones to kill Americans — even if we suspect they have done very bad things — we somehow do not care about the lives of police officers. That is not the case. It is perfectly possible to not want police officers to be killed in the line of duty but to wholeheartedly reject the idea of authorities using drones to remotely kill Americans before they are found guilty.

African-American Dallas protester Mark Hughes was wrongly identified by Dallas Police as a suspect in the shootings. Police tweeted photos of Hughes marching with protesters openly carrying a rifle, as is permitted in Texas. Police claimed was involved in the shooting. He was a suspect just like Johnson was a suspect. During questioning they told Hughes that they had video of him shooting people, which was a lie. What if police had sent in a drone to take out Mark Hughes? What will happen in the future to a future Mark Hughes, falsely accused by police of being involved in a shooting? Will we come to accept murder without trial?

  1. I am delighted that the cops blew that POS to hell and back. Who gives a rat’s ass if he had “due process.” The fucker murdered many people. I will always support the cops when they blow up this type of POS, even though I really hate the cops of today.

  2. Tyler please feel free to stand in front of other people , when the shooting see starts. Please stand infront of me do not hide do not turn away face the danger. I find the bad part about using the robot is the cost of the robot. The police and mostly higher ups approved everything including the governors office. One bomb 200 dollars one robot 25 , 000. Saving more life including police officers with one dead shooter priceless. Remember Tyler if you do not break the law you will not be a target.

  3. Tyler Durden, Zero Hedge – you are idiots. The shooter had proven his own self to be guilty beyond ANY REASONABLE DOUBT!

Its people like you that create and stir up stupid non-issues.

  4. Ok…lets see, lets think about the past a bit, thinking back to all the past shooters that have killed citizens, not just police officers, but regular citizens in all the mass shootings. If any the ones that instead of killing themselves had held back, refusing to back off, bragging about the people they killed, especially the little sob that killed all the kids at Sandy Hook, would this or any article be here complaining about due process. Nope, Instead, people would be complaining about why they didn’t take the person out earlier especially if they had the means to do it. The police would be praised for ending the life of person killing citizens, for killing kids. In this article and others I have seen online, instead you question and accuse the police of being unfair, that they didn’t give this murderer his right to a fair trial. Do you think they would have not found him guilty? Yea, he would have got his due process, but after his trial, he still would have been put to death. So if anything the people of Texas should thank the police for saving them tax dollars by getting rid of this scum on the scene vs a lengthy trial. If you lost your family to a murderer, do you think you would care ANYTHING about due process, you would want them die, forget the trial, let me have 5 minutes alone with them and I could save the tax payers money for a trial.

    1. You damn fool. Sandy Hook elementary school had been shut down. FOUR YEARS BEFORE THE DRILL, that was sold to you damn fools as a mass murder.
Don’t believe me? Go to http://www.veteranstoday.com and read Dr. FEtzer’s material.
Next, get your head out of your stupid, plugged up ass.

  5. He was laughing and bragging about how many police officers he just killed so there is no trial needed. He admitted his guilt period. He also refused to give up and said he would kill more hence taking him out before he had a chance to add bodies to his collection.

  6. NO MORON HE WAS KILLED BECAUSE HE MURDERED FIVE COPS AND INJURED MANY MORE AND WAS ALSO SHOOTING CIVILIANS. HE WAS GIVEN MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO PUT DOWN HIS WEAPON AND SURRENDER.

HE CHOSE THIS METHOD OF TRIAL. HE CHOSE TO DIE THIS WAY.

HOW MANY MORE WOULD YOU HAVE PREFERRED BE MURDERED? 50? 100? 1,000? AT WHAT POINT DO YOU THINK DRASTIC MEASURES ARE NEEDED?

  7. Mark Hughs was a person of interest that they wanted to speak with. I watched it live. They never called him a suspect. Go bait somewhere else with that BS if you want to be a credible writer. I can agree with you of sorts with the drone thing, but when you add the rest then you sound like you don’t have a clue which ruins the rest of your story. #fail

  8. Are folks nuts? When one deprives citizens of their life and civil rights but shooting at them and the police, they have surrendered their right to trial.
