Have a Happy, Healthy and Safe Thanksgiving

1As you settle down to celebrate Thanksgiving with your friends and family, spare a thought for those who, through no fault of there own, will be struggling to put any food on the table let alone a turkey and all the trimmings.

Those of us who still have homes and who can afford to feed our families every day are indeed blessed, because, but for the Grace of God, we too would be in their position.

Think of those men and women, serving with our armed forces in far flung corners of the world.

Those of us who are fortunate enough to welcome our husbands, wives, brothers, sisters and loved ones home at the end of their tour are truly blessed, because but for the Grace of God, we too would be waiting for the return of a flag draped coffin.

The list of things we should be thankful for is endless, but one of the main things on my mind this Thanksgiving is how thankful we should all be that the fool on the hill has not involved us in a conflict that could easily have led to World War Three. In that respect we are all blessed.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving

Day after day,
Alone on a hill,
The man with the foolish grin is keeping perfectly still
But nobody wants to know him,
They can see that he’s just a fool,
And he never gives an answer,

But the fool on the hill,
Sees the sun going down,
And the eyes in his head,
See the world spinning ’round.

Well on the way,
Head in a cloud,
The man of a thousand voices talking perfectly loud
But nobody ever hears him,
or the sound he appears to make,
and he never seems to notice,

But the fool on the hill,
Sees the sun going down,
And the eyes in his head,
See the world spinning ’round.

And nobody seems to like him,
they can tell what he wants to do,
and he never shows his feelings,

But the fool on the hill,
Sees the sun going down,
And the eyes in his head,
See the world spinning ’round.

And he never listens to them,
He knows that they’re the fools
They don’t like him,

The fool on the hill
Sees the sun going down,
And the eyes in his head,
See the world spinning ’round
