Honey
HONEY is one of the 9 Food Storage Items That Never Expires and is worth its weight in gold! There are over 100 ways to use honey, yet to save you time we have compiled the 40 most useful tips and some recipes that go along with them.  Start Stockpiling it now & use it everyday!
In the laboratory, honey has been shown to hamper the growth of food-borne pathogens such as E. coli and salmonella, and to fight certain bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa, both of which are common in hospitals and doctors’ offices.

THE KEY TO ALL THESE BENEFITS IS GETTING RAW HONEY THAT HAS NOT BEEN PASTURIZED, WHICH KILLS MANY OF THE BENEFITS LOCATED IN HONEY.  Commercial honey has also had most of the pollen removed. Bee pollen is considered to be one of the most nutritionally-complete foods available because  of its high amino acid and antioxidant content.  Most commercial honey sold in stores is heated to high temperatures and pasteurized, getting rid of most of the beneficial enzymes, antioxidants and other nutrients that are heat-sensitive.

Honey is made up of glucose, fructose, and minerals such as iron, calcium, phosphate, sodium chlorine, potassium, magnesium. The slightly acidic pH level of honey (between 3.2 and 4.5) is what helps prevent the growth of bacteria, while its antioxidant constituents cleans up free radicals. The physical properties of honey vary depending on the specific flora that was used to produce it, as well as its water content. Below is a typical honey profile makeup:

Fructose: 38.2%
Glucose: 31.3%
Maltose: 7.1%
Sucrose: 1.3%
Water: 17.2%
Higher sugars: 1.5%
Ash: 0.2%
Other/undetermined: 3.2%
